what is meditation

Meditation is all about being here and now. It's about not living in your mind, remembering the past or dreaming of the future, but being fully present to this moment. And when you become alert to the present moment, life suddenly gets a new vibrancy and depth. It sounds so simple, and it is, but it is also incredibly difficult. We are so accustomed to living within the blur of our minds that is can feel impossibe to stop listening to it. Meditation cannot be done or learned in the traditional sense, rather it is a space of stillness and peace that already exists within all of us. Finding a way to bring that space more into your day to day life is the knack of meditation.

active meditation

The term 'active meditation' is used to describe a particular approach to meditation that was developed by Osho to specifically target the additional difficulties with meditation that modern people experience.

Due to the rapid pace of our lifestyles, combined with the vast quantities of information that we are exposed to, modern people tend to have much more mental tension and anxiety than ancient people. This has been further exacerbated by the encroachment of technology into almost every aspect of our lives. Active meditations therefore use some physical activity to revitalise and relax the body and mind, before coming to stillness. Many people experience that this approach provides a much smoother and less frustrating path into meditation as compared with traditional sedentary meditation practices.

It is also a life affirmative approach, where all aspects of life are welcomed and celebrated as opportunities for growth. The aim is to cultivate not just meditative awareness, but also a deep joy in living and a sense of heart connection with ourselves and others. Many people experience profound personal transformation through active meditation and its associated techniques.

A true revolution of inner experience, arriving at a place of positivity, joy, love, laughter, filled with vibrant energy, yet with a deep and resilient inner peace at the centre.

Modern man is a very new phenomenon. No traditional method can be used exactly as it exists because modern man never existed before... modern man has changed so much that he needs new methods, new techniques

inner alchemy

The term Inner Alchemy refers to fundamental and long lasting changes to the quality of our experience. This includes, but is not limited to meditation, as we also offer a variety of different techniques and therapeutic modalities that can facilitate shifts in understanding, and the opportunity to let go of limiting patterns of thinking and behavior, and to embrace positive qualities such as awareness, love, and joy. Inner Alchemy is a journey into yourself, a journey to become the happiest and most alive version of you

Life should not only be lived, it should be celebrated... each moment has to become a celebration. Whatsoever you are doing, do it with the spirit of celebration, bubbling with joy, overflowing with joy. Slowly slowly one becomes attuned to the celebration of the universe
— osho

Osho was a mystic and teacher of meditation from India, who was active in the 1970s and 1980s until his death in 1990. He created a revolutionary approach to meditation that was specifically designed for contemporary people.

One of his great insights was to combine the best of western psycho-therapeutic techniques with the eastern approach to meditation and consciousness

It is impossible to overstate the significance of Osho's contribution to the art of inner transformation. His teachings and techniques have helped millions of people live happier, more fulfilling lives. And his influence can be seen and felt in virtually all contemporary spirituality

osho master of meditation

Life in itself is an empty canvas, it becomes whatsoever you paint on it. You can paint misery, you can paint bliss. This freedom is your glory
— osho
Experience life in all possible ways — good-bad, bitter-sweet, dark-light, summer-winter. Experience all the dualities. Don’t be afraid of experience, because the more experience you have, the more mature you become

Jashan's journey in meditation

JASHAN

Embodiment and meditation have been the two major themes of my adult life. I have practiced embodiment since 2002, when I started practicing Capoeira, a movement art from Brazil. This started a beautiful journey for me in my body, bringing me deeper body awareness, more energy and joy, and a heightened sense of aliveness and vitality

I discovered meditation in 2005 when I did a Vipassana retreat. I could immediately see the benefits and potential of meditation, but I found this particular tradition didn't resonate with me due to its lack of recognition of the body.

So when I came to Osho in 2006, it felt like coming home. Osho's approach to meditation represents a wonderful synthesis of body, mind, and spirit, embracing the whole spectrum of the human condition. Since then meditation and personal integration have been at the centre of my life

I am passionate about sharing this approach to meditation and inner exploration quite simply because it works. I have seen, both in myself and in others, dramatic and rapid growth towards being happier, healthier, more peaceful and loving people

My trainings include:

Osho Diamond BreathOsho PulsationOsho Mystic Rose

I have also been in training with Master Wang Hai-Jun, one of the world's foremost masters of Chen style Taijiquan since 2008. Taijiquan represents the next stage on my personal path of bodymind integration and harmonisation.

Since I can remember I have had a passion for self discovery and spirituality, and have been searching in different traditions for something that resonates with me

I recently came into contact with Osho and immediately knew I had found my path because this was the only thing that fit me as I am;  I didn't need to reshape or fragment myself in order to walk in this path

Over the past year since meeting Osho I have been practicing his methods consistently and have experienced a profound and rapid transformation... I feel more connected to my authentic self, happier, more excited about life, more energetic, more confident, and more comfortable being myself

Going through this personal transformation has given me a great passion for my inner journey, so I am now dedicating myself to training in these wonderful methods so they can become widely available
